EST+ Self-testing, Self diagnosing inbuilt Emergency and Exit system
ETAP Lighting Emergencies and Exit lighting products come with EST+ self testing in-built as standard. EST+ needs no extra wiring, it is is a stand alone testing and diagnosing feature that will produce a function test every 2 weeks. The function test will test Battery, LED and wiring function. Every 13 weeks a battery health test will be performed. The battery is drained to 90 mins (from 120+ mins) and recharged. Battery health testing is mandatory within the 6 monthly test reporting under ASNZ2293, but all too often it is not included. Other ‘Self-test’ products only offer testing for function, not life or diagnoses. Regular Battery Health testing will also increase Battery life. Leaving batteries dormant reduces the life of the manufacturers expected product life, similar to mobile phone management. ETAP Lighting use NiMH Batteries in their Exit and Emergency products because of the ability to be recycled and the lower impact environmentally, in comparison to Lithium that is becoming an environmental headache. At any point of the installation, the client can be assured that the ETAP Lighting Emergency and Exit Lighting installation will be to standard and ready for an evacuation emergency.
During a test cycle, whether it be 2 weekly function or Battery Health and duration testing, the system will issue a health report to the indicator light on the Emergency or Exit Lighting product. Green being healthy and no fault is detected, the product is compliant and functioning to ASNZ2293.
If a fault is detected the indicator will flash an orange sequence, the sequence of orange light flashes will change
The fault diagnosis will appear within the indicator sequence, saving time in supporting the maintenance of the building. For mandatory testing every six months under ASNZ2293, the individual product indicators only need to be checked to ensure that the products comply and perform. The reports can be quickly completed without any disruption to the buildings daily function.
Once a fault is detected and diagnosed via EST+, the fault can be fixed with cleverly engineered products that incorporate plug and play components. See below video showing the simplicity for maintenance.
EST+ is a stand a lone system, independently testing the individual products. It does not require additional wiring.
EST+ can be incorporated into ETAP Lighting’s ESM Monitored system for self testing, self diagnosing and self reporting. Read more on ETAP’s ESM Monitored system.
The EST+ self-testing and self-diagnosing systems offers support in providing a truly sustainable Emergency and Exit installation.
