ETAP’s IF award-winning architectural range of ultra slim blade exits is designed for discretion and performance. The K9 will not be obtrusive on any interior space and as such will enhance the interior design. The K9 Exits are constructed from Aluminium and offer 4 standard powder coat finishes – matte-white, grey, matte-black and raw aluminum as well as custom finishes on request. The K9 is not a universal mounting exit system as each product in this range has been carefully designed specifically to compliment interiors, offering up to 5 different mounting solutions to meet your project.
Testing:
The K9 offers “ESM” monitored testing or “EST+” comprehensive self-testing. The EST+ runs regular tests on function, LED function and with a built in light sensor, EST+ will ensure the light output is to ASNZ2293 requirement of 9 candela, battery duration tests and function 4 times a year the battery is drained to 90 minutes and recharged for duration testing and battery health. The testing indicator are discreetly displayed on the exit housing and will signal the health of the product. In the event that a fault is detected, the test indicator will provide the fault through a series of flashes.
Batteries:
All ETAP Exits and Emergencies come with NiMH (Nickel-Metal Hydride) batteries as standard. When cadmium-based batteries were banned, ETAP switched to NiMH on their entire emergency and exit lighting range. Not only are they cadmium-free, they also consume less energy and are 50% more compact. Lithium has been proven to be unstable in heat, flammable and harder to recycle at the end of the battery life cycle with only 10% at this stage being able to be recycled from the LI batteries. Many of the harmful chemicals within Li Batteries get sent off-sure to dispose off, becoming harmful toxic waste and potential fire risks. NIMH battery are less harmful to the environment and are able to be recycled up to 95% at the end of their operating life. We maintain maximum battery life by including battery health functions every 90 days in all ETAP testing systems, this provides less than 5% failure over a 10 year period.
Pictograms:
The plexiglass plate behind the pictogram is printed with a dot matrix pattern, which ensures even illumination through the entire pictogram. We provide individual pictograms to for each product. The K9 Pictogram is a superior signage to improve visibility and add to the overall slim design. Sending sets of Exit signage further impact the building waste issue.
Mounting:
The K9 Architectural Blade Exit is not universally mounted. Each mounting option has been cleverly designed to fit in the Architectural space more discreetly.
K9R242/1-… Recessed Blade Exit with ultra slim trim, incorporating testing indicator. Constructed of Aluminium the K9R242 can be powder coated to any custom finish needed. Or select from the standard finishes ETAP offer: White, Grey, Matt Black.
K9R142/1… Surface mounted Blade Exit with ultra slim trim, incorporating testing indicator. Constructed of Aluminium the K9R142 can be powder coated to any custom finish needed. Or select from the standard finishes ETAP offer: White, Grey, Matt Black, Raw Aluminium.
The K9R142 can be suspended from wire suspensions, coupled with a clear cable, this is a discreet option to suspend the K9 Exit neatly. Simply stipulate the product is to be suspended in the specification.
K9R432/1-… Wall mounted Blade Exit with a shallow facing and concealed controls, incorporating testing indicator. Constructed of Aluminium the K9R432 can be powder coated to any custom finish needed. Or select from the standard finishes ETAP offer: White, Grey, Matt Black, Raw Aluminium.
K9R542/1… Wall mounted Blade Exit in a ‘Flag’ mount with integral gear, incorporating testing indicator. The Flag style mounting eliminates the need to suspend Exit lighting in corridors, passages or other areas where a wall can mount a visible Exit. This allows the space to have cleaner ceilings along with the possible obstruction to pendant lighting with suspended exits. Constructed of Aluminium the K9R542 can be powder coated to any custom finish needed. Or select from the standard finishes ETAP offer: White, Grey, Matt Black, Raw Aluminium.
