K9 Square Beam distribution – Anti-panic C0:630 C90:A630
K9 Elongated Distribution – Escape Route C0:D800 C90:A25
ETAP’s K9 Architectural recessed emergency lighting are small and sleek. ETAP’s Emergency whilst being the smallest recessed mounted Emergency in Australia apart from the K9 mini, still while maintaining ETAP’s superior Emergency optics as well as the testing indicators. The K9 face plate is manufactured from Aluminium, with optional powder coat finishes. The K9 range has a standard selection of powder coat finishes Matt White, Grey, matt black and raw aluminium. Custom finishes are available to ensure the K9 will blend with your interior ceiling.
Optics:
ETAP offer 2 optics for optimal performance: the anti-panic lens distributes light in a square area for even illumination including corners and the escape-route lens provides an elongated beam for passages and corridors. The escape-route lens will give a 19.2m beam (based on 2.7m ASNZ2293 tables, see below) allowing designers to use less fittings, subject to ASNZ2293-18 guidelines. ETAP’s emergency optics allow these emergencies to be mounted on high ceiling without suspending the products. Please see our Australian and New Zealand spacing guide below under ‘Downloads’ section.

Monitoring:
Like all of ETAP Lighting’s Exit and Emergencies EST+ comprehensive stand alone self-test is supplied as standard. ESM monitored systems is available when needed. Both ‘EST+’ and ‘ESM’ offer full testing including diode function, wiring function, battery function every 2 weeks. Every 90 days the system will operate a battery health test, draining the battery to 90 minutes and recharging. Both systems do not require manual intervention, the systems will test to ASNZ2293 and maintain the system to standard. If any faults occur, the product will send a signal to the indicator offering a different sequence to advise what the fault is, whether it is the diode, wiring or battery fault or health. In ESM monitored system, the fault will report back to the web controller, ESM will send an alert to Maintenance with the building, with a report where the product is located and what the fault is. This advise will continue until the product is rectified. ETAP Lighting offer central battery systems and wireless monitored ‘ESM’ products. ETAP Lighting’s monitored system ‘ESM’ CAN monitor any other branded emergency lighting products via a Dali Gateway. Please see EST and ESM brochures offered under ‘Downloads’ section.
Batteries:
All ETAP Exits and Emergencies come with NiMH (Nickel-Metal Hydride) batteries as standard. When cadmium-based batteries were banned, ETAP switched to NiMH on their entire emergency and exit lighting range. Not only are they cadmium-free, they also consume less energy and are 50% more compact. Lithium has been proven to be unstable in heat, flammable and harder to recycle at the end of the battery life cycle with only 10% at this stage being able to be recycled from the LI batteries. Many of the harmful chemicals within Li Batteries get sent off-sure to dispose off, becoming harmful toxic waste and potential fire risks. NIMH battery are less harmful to the environment and are able to be recycled up to 95% at the end of their operating life. We maintain maximum battery life by including battery health functions every 90 days in all ETAP testing systems, this provides less than 5% failure over a 10 year period.
Warranties:
ETAP Lighting offer 4 year factory warranties on their products. Their is no fine print that excludes batteries or PCB components. ETAP Lighting continue to lead the way with all of their product to produce high performing luminaires that last, by incorporating in luminaire design the components ideal performance and health conditions. ETAP Lighting’s comprehensive testing that includes battery health cycles every 90 days, to ensure the life of the battery and compliance of the product. EST+ and ESM testing system also include diode health and wiring function. It is with this technology that ETAP Lighting Exit and Emergency systems see less than 5% failure over a 10 year period.
Compliance:
K9 Emergencies are tested and compliant to AS2293.1:2018 report #LL6962
